To proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word, deed and in all daily activities
while providing distribution of the Lord's bounty to those in need.
God's Grace is Living Word's outreach program, It originally began to make and distribute bagged lunches for homeless individuals; by the end of 2021 we bagged and distributed over 1,600 lunches, and also collected more than 500 pairs of socks and 250 hygiene kits to provide to the homeless. This program continues to grow, and we are actively seeking donations in our community to help support our efforts. You may donate using the PayPal button below.

The Arlington Little Free Pantry is a community-supported source of food for those experiencing a need. It is accessible 24 hours a day – 7 days a week. The concept is simple: TAKE WHAT YOU NEED - BRING WHAT YOU CAN - ABOVE ALL BE BLESSED!
TAKE WHAT YOU NEED
The pantry is located in the parking lot behind Living Word Lutheran Church. The doors to the pantry are not locked and you may select the items you need; grocery bags are available in the pantry as well.
BRING WHAT YOU CAN
The community is invited to donate any non-perishable food items you wish to share. You may place these items on the pantry shelves at any time. Click here for a list of suggested items. Excess items may be left with Living Word Lutheran Church to restock the pantry as necessary.
The construction for a new 126-bed Tennessee State Veterans home in Arlington is finally underway. Local and state officials gathered on May 13, 2022 for the groundbreaking ceremony on Memphis Arlington Road. The facility will care for veterans, their spouses and some gold-star parents.
The Living Word congregation looks forward to supporting the new veterans home, and honoring and welcoming veterans!
“God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday is an opportunity to celebrate
who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America —
one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor.
Service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of
our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ – every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life –
flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace.
